Platoon 4 ran this shift change fire.  First arriving units found Smoke and fire showing.  Members made entry and searched the house while Technician Burton removed bars from the windows.

Apartment Fire
2440 Virginia Ave NW
Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported apartment fire on the 9th floor.  First arriving units found nothing showing from the exterior.  Upon arrival on 9th 9th floor, crews encountered a smoke filled hallway leading to an apartment on fire.  Members searched the numerous apartments with help from another Rescue Squad.

Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported apartment fire with people trapped.  First arriving units found heavy smoke showing.  Members searched the apartment to find all victims had made it out safely prior to arrival.

3145 Mount Pleasant StNW
Platoon 1 was dispatched on the second alarm for the building fire.  Conditions were deteriorating when RS-1 arrived.  Members made entry and started helping search the large apartment building which had fire on multiple floors.  After aggressive interior operations were not prevailing, units were ordered out and exterior operations were started.

Platoon 1 ran this house fire.  Members assisted with removal of bars on the windows and simultaneously searched the inside.  There were no victims found inside.

While other units were fighting a fire nearby, platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported building.  First arriving units found fire showing from the 1sr and 2nd floors.  Members started searching and were making good progress when the fire became too involved to continue interior operations.

Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported building fire.  First arriving units found heavy smoke from side A.  Members made entry and started searching the large building.  After reports of an explosion inside, units were withdrawn and an exterior attack was started.

Platoon 1 was ran its second, 2 alarm fire of the day.  Units arrived to find fire in a construction dumpster which was running up the trash chute.  Members found smoke throughout the building.  The building sprinklers kept the fire from extending into the building.

Platoon 1 was dispatched for the reported fire in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.  Units found smoke coming from the East side of the building.  Members searched the building and assisted units inside.

Platoon 2 was dispatched for the apartment fire.  Units arrived to find smoke from the first floor apartment.  Members searched the apartment involved and the exposures.

Platoon 3 was dispatched for the reported boat fire.  Members arrived to find a small fire in the cabin on-board.  The fire was quickly extinguished.

Platoon 1 was dispatched for the reported house fire.  First arriving units found smoke and fire showing.  Members made a search of the multiple dwellings.

Platoon 2 was waiting on the manhole call on Pennsylvania Ave when the box was sounded.  They were able to clear the call and respond on the second alarm.  Members searched the original and exposure houses upon arrival.  Prior to arrival a Mayday was sounded for the members of Engine 4 who were working on the second floor of the exposure.

Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported manhole fires.  Members set up ropes and stood by in case PEPCO needed emergency assistance.

Building Fire
2633 Adams Mill Road N.W.
Platoon 1 was dispatched on the second alarm for the building with heavy fire on the roof.  Members sprang into action when a call for help was transmitted from units on the roof.  Members threw a 45' ladder and used a roof ladder to reach the roof in an attempt to reach personnel trapped on the roof.  This fire went to 4 alarms.

2144 Queens Chapel Road N.E.
Platoon 2 dispatched for the reported building fire.  First arriving units found heavy smoke showing upon arrival.  Members of Rescue 1 along with other units used rescue saws to open up several roll-up doors along the front of the building.  After conditions on the roof started deteriorating units were pulled out.  The equivalent of a 4th alarm responded to this fire.

Platoon 3 was dispatched on the 2nd alarm for the house fire.  First arriving units found heavy fire in the basement with smoke throughout the house.  There was fire in the exposures.  When RS-1 arrived there was smoke throughout.  Members were requested to perform the secondary search

Platoon 4 was dispatched for the reported building fire.  First arriving units found fire in office space of a service station.  Members of Rescue Squad 1 searched the building.

Platoon 3 was dispatched for the reported house fire.  Units arrived to find fire showing from the 3rd floor of the end of the Row.  Members made entry and began a search of the house.

Platoon 3 was dispatched for the reported house fire with people trapped.  First arriving units reported smoke showing from both the front and rear.  The occupant of the house was already out upon RS-1's arrival, however she was reporting a dog still inside.  Members found the dog and began resuscitative efforts however combined efforts along with EMS were unsuccessful.

Platoon 3 was dispatched for the reported apartment fire.  Units arrived finding light smoke showing.  Firefighter Keefe found a sleeping child and removed him to safety.

Platoon 4 was dispatched for the building fire this morning.  Units arrived to find Fire showing in the rear of the building.  The fire extended to the building.  A second alarm was sounded.  Units operated for approx 2 hours.

Platoon 3 ran this middle of the row fire.  Units went on the scene with smoke in the front and heavy fire in the rear.  Members of Rescue Squad 1 used the saws and forced entry to the front.  Members made their way into the building to search the half vacant building.

Platoon 3 ran its second of three fires today.  First arriving units found a room off in the basement.  Members searched and assisted in ventilization of the house.

The first fire of the day we were the first arriving unit and found smoke showing from a middle of the row.  Members found a room off on the second floor with fire extending into the hallway. 

The third fire was at 901 21st St. NE.  Units arrived to find fire showing from the basement apartment.

Members from Truck 3 were dispatched to assist MPD gaining entry to the residence.  After gunshots were heard and smoke started showing from the house, a full box assignment was requested.  RS-1 platoon 3 made entry and searched the house.  They found 1 victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound.  No other victims were found

Platoon 4 was dispatched for the reported house fire.  Units arrived to find heavy smoke showing.  RS-1 searched aggressively with reports of the owner still being inside.  During search operations, the owner was reported returning home.  No other victims were inside.

Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported fire at the PEPCO plant on Benning Road.  Units arrived to find a fire in a boiler room.  Firefighters responding to the fire had to be de-contaminated due to asbestos exposure.

Platoon 1 was dispatched for the reported house fire.  Units arrived to find fire on the first floor.  RS-1 searched the house for any victims.

Platoon 3 was dispatched for the reported house fire.  While en-route, reports of perple being trapped were transmitted by Communications.  Upon arrival, units found a middle of the row with smoke showing.  RS-1 arrived and made an aggressive search of all floors.  Upon completion of their search, no victims were found.

For the second time in less than 24 hours, Rescue Squad 1 ran a 3 alarm fire.  Platoon 4 was dispatched for the reported building fire.  First arriving units reported heavy smoke showing.  Conditions rapidly deteriorated and companies were pulled out to assume exterior operations.  Once fire conditions permitted some units entered the building to preserve valuable artifacts stored in the library.

Platoon 3 was dispatched on the second alarm for the reported building fire at historic Eastern Market.  First arriving units found fire showing from both the front and rear of the building.  Companies were pulled out after interior attacks of the heavy timber building were appearing to make no progress.  Deteriorating conditions led to an exterior attack.

Units arrived to find smoke showing from the second floor of an apartment building.  Rescue Squad 1 made an agressive search of the apartment and exposure apartments.  The fire was brought under control in under 20 minutes.

Platoon 3 ran this two alarm apartment fire today.  Tower 3 went on the scene with fire showing from the 5th floor of an apartment building.  Rescue Squad 1 arrived moments after and made their way up to the 5th floor.  Members aggressively searched the apartment.  Members found no one in the clutter filled  apartment despite conflicting reports from citizens.

Platoon 2 battled this early morning fire today.  Units arrived to find an apartment building with heavy fire showing. Rescue Squad 1 searched the apartment.  A second alarm was sounded to help bring the fire under control.

Units arrived to find heavy fire and smoke showing in the rear from the 4th floor of this 9 story building.  Rescue Squad 1 moved in on the push and made an aggressive search of the fire apartment and exposures.  A second alarm was sounded and Rescue Squad 3 assisted searching the floors above.  A firefighter from Engine 2, housed with Rescue Squad 1, suffered 2nd degree burns to his legs in the fire.

Units arrived to find heavy fire from a multiple story building.  Units began an interior attack, however conditions dictated the chief to pull everyone out.  An exterior attack was started and the fire was brought under control an hour later.

Units were dispatched on the reported building fire at 901 New Jersey Ave. NW.  E-6 went on the scene with fire showing from the 10th floor.  RS-1 quickly ascended the stairway behind E-6 and made their way down the hallway to the apartment.  Lt. Duck of E-6 found a body and passed her back to F/F St. Clair.  F/F St. Clair then pulled her down the hallway and began descending the stairwell.  He was assisted by "Trigger" of E-3 carrying her down the 10 floors.  F/F Imbach, 90 day detailed to RS-1, found another victim and helped her down the 10 floors to safety.

Units were dispatched to the 2200 Block of 6th St NW for the building fire.  Units arrived to find heavy fire from the first & second floor of a vacant building. An exterior attack was used to bring the fire under control.

Units were dispatched to 1285 Brentwood Rd NE for the reported apartment fire.  Units went on the scene with heavy smoke showing from the 3rd floor.  Rescue Squad 1 arrived on the scene to find heave black smoke pouring out of the 3rd floor.  Rescue Squad 1 made entry and searched the 3rd floor apartment.  Members assisted with ventilation and ensuring all the fire was knocked.
