House Fire
1030 Paper Mill Ct NW
Platoon 3 was dispatched for the reported house. The original dispatch was for an explosion heard by several callers. The call was upgraded to a box. Units found a propane tank on fire with extension into the house. Members searched the house and found fire in the attic.

 


June 25th, 2008

House Fire
88 P Street SW
Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported house fire. First arriving units reported light smoke. Units found a room in the rear of the house. Members searched the first floor and forced entry to search the second floor.

Building Fire
935 Florida Ave NW
Platoon 4 was dispatched for the reported building fire. First arriving units found smoke showing. An exterior attack was mounted due to the conditions of the building.

House Fire
1100 Block of 6th Street NW
Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported house fire. First arriving units found smoke showing from the row house. Members made entry and searched.

Building Fire
400 M Street SW
Platoon 3 was dispatched for the reported building fire. First arriving units found smoke showing from the roof. Members made their was up to the roof and found roofing materials on fire.

 


June 1st, 2008

Metro Rescue
Smithsonian Metro Station
Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported person struck by the metro train. First arriving units found that a woman had fallen onto the tracks and was alive and conscious under the train, about 40 feet from the front. Members were able to crawl under the train to her location, immobilize her to a back board – and using a rope – pull the board with her on it so that it was clear of the train.

Platoon 4 was dispatched for the reported house fire. First arriving units found smoke showing. Members searched the house.

House Fire
300 Block of Channing St NE
Platoon 1 was dispatched for the reported house fire.  Units found fire in the rear of the house.  The fire had also jumped across the alley and set another house on fire.  Members searched the house

Building Fire
Hart Senate Office Building
Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported smoke coming from the building.  Units found an electric generator on fire.  The Twin Agent Unit was requested to extinguish the fire.
 

April 14th, 2008

MVA
7th St & Independence Ave SW
Platoon 2 was dispatched to help remove the entrapped people from the car.  The vehicle had left the roadway and hit a fire hydrant on the sidewalk trapping the 2 passengers inside.  Members used the Amkus tools to extricate the victims.

Special Alarm
C & O Canal @ Key Bridge
Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported water rescue.  Members found a lifeless body in the river and removed it.

House Fire
1530 3rd Street NW
Platoon 1 was dispatched for the reported house fire.  First arriving units reported fire showing from the third floor.  Members made a quick entry and searched the house.

April 8th, 2008

Haz Mat
1370 Park Road N.W.
Platoon 4 was dispatched for the mercury spill at a bakery.  Units made entry to find a broken thermometer. No injuries were reported.


April 7th, 2008

Apartment Fire
401 K Street NW
Platoon 3 was dispatched for the reported apartment fire.  First arriving units went on the scene with smoke showing from the 2nd floor.  Members encountered heavy smoke filled hallways on the second floor.  Members used the aid of Thermal Imagers to find their way down the hallways.  They then searched the numerous apartments.

April 2nd, 2008

Below Grade Rescue
901 K Street NW
Platoon 2 was dispatched for the reported injured construction worker.  Upon arrival, members found a worker who had injured their leg and could not walk up to safety.  Members packaged the victim in the stokes basket and used an on-site crane to lift the patient to safety on the street above.
