On January 20th 1925 the Washington DC Fire Dept. placed Rescue  squad 1

in service in the quarters of Engine company 2.

The unit was placed in service with a 1913 Seagrave  hose wagon

converted to a squad wagon by the DCFD repair

shop. The units were located at 719 12th street NW.

On April 15 1946 Rescue Squad 1 was moved to

the old quarters of engine company 14 at 413 8th St NW.

On March 9th the unit was moved back

to the quarters of Engine company 2 on 12th St.

July 8th 1974 the rescue squad was moved to the new

quarters of Engine Company 6 at 1300 New Jersey Ave. NW.

In 1995 Rescue Squad 1 was moved to the quarters of Engine

Company 2 located at 500 F St. NW.

Were the unit continues to run out of today.
